A little bit about Christmas
In these dates people start to prepare Christmas, cities and shops are illuminated with lights and decorated with special decoration. People begin thinking in presents and in family meetings. In a traditional way to celebrate these days, people decide where they are going to celebrate on Christmas Day. Basically, you have to choose in what home you will do the dinner, the menu, a present would like to your family members, friends…
But there is a new tendency, and it is to celebrate Christmas holidays in a new place, going abroad. Many people tend to travel in this date because they don't want to live the Christmas spirit at home. Sometimes full families decide to go to other place to celebrate Christmas or they don't like that day and they prefer to spend their free time in places, like the Caribbean. I don't know the reason but gradually, this tendency begins to have followers and it's a different way to survive at these days.
Anyway, I prefer to celebrate the Christmas Day in the traditional way but I think we should spend these days how we prefer, independently if we like or not Christmas.

Dear Maia. I completely agree with you. Probably Christmas point of view changes when there are kids around you and probably Christmas are special because of kids. As you, I celebrate Christmas on the traditional way. I recognise myself, if there were no kids in my family, Christmas would have no sense and probably I would spent those days abroad. This next week, as usual in my life, we will celebrate Christmas Eve at home. My daughter and my nephew will be sticking the Tio like little crazy diamonds and my husband is thinking on dressing like Santa Claus and visit them. I’m just waiting to see their faces!!! For sure it will be a magical moment!!!.
Anyway Maia, HAPPY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR. As you can see I really like your blog and I like to make comments on it.
Hi!
I have a traditional Christmas every year but I'd like to celebrate it abroad some year. As you say, it's a new tendency to do it but if you like to spend this holidays with your family because it's the only moment that you can be assembled with them and it's complicated to go abroad all of them (what do you do with your grandparents? They can not travell!), it isn't a good idea.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!
Hi Maia,
I agree with you and I prefer to stay here with the family. I usually celebrate Christmans Eve in my fathers-in-law house, and Christmans Day in fathers house.
Another thing is the New Year Eve. I usually celebrate it with friends.
hi maia! like laidybird i totally agree with you.
the tendency of going abroad for these days is day after day more common. i prefer the traditional dinner with the family at home but news things are interesting too and why not spending a Christmas in the Caribbean?
